The Azerbaijani Superleague starts on the 25th November.

The Azerbaijani Volleyball Federation announced the start date and reglament of next Super-league season.
First day of the Super-league will start on the 25th of November. The Super-league main phase will consist of two rounds,5 tours for each round. The best four teams in the ranking will continue their way to the main prize.
These teams will play two rounds of the "Play-off" phase among each other. After these rounds the first team in the ranking will face the fourth one,and the second team will compete with the third one. The winners of these pairs will be known after the "Best of three" (two wins).
The winner will play in the finals which will be played till three wins with the formula "Best of Five". The losers will meet for the bronze medals with the same formula.
The last day of Azerbaijani Super-league is the 10th of May.

"Nagliyyatchi" changes its name to "Baku" VC

The Azerbaijani Superleague participant,Nagliyyatchi" has been renamed to "Baku" VC from this season.
Adnan Kistak`s team,which finished 5th last season will play under new name from next game season and will play its matches in the new hall of Baku.

Azerrail and Lokomotiv win the tournament in Czech Republic

Azerrail and Lokomotiv began their pre-season camp in Czech Republic by winning the mini-tournament, held in the town of Prerov. The two-day tournament, named "Zubr Cup", drew together three Czech and two Azerbaijani teams that played on a single round-robin format. At the end of the tourney, Azerrail and Lokomotiv shared the first place.

Azerrail - Frydek-Mistek 3:1 (20:25, 25:19, 25:15, 25:17)
Lokomotiv - Slavia Prague 3:2 (21:25, 25:23, 26:28, 25:19, 15:12)

Slavia Prague - Azerrail 1:3 (25:23, 14:25, 7:25, 15:25)
Frydek-Mistek - Lokomotiv 1:3 (16:25, 25:16, 15:25, 15:25)

Azerrail - Lokomotiv did not play

Prerov – Azerrail 0:3 (18:25, 14:25, 14:25)
Lokomotiv – Prerov 3:0 (25:15, 25:11, 25:20).

Final Standing:
1. Azerrail - 6 points (9:2)
2. Lokomotiv - 6 points (9:3)
3. Slavia Prague - 6 points (9:8)
4. Prerov - 5 points (3:10)
5. Frydek-Mistek - 4 points (5:12).

Azerrail and Lokomotiv start joint camp in Czech Republic

Azerrail and Lokomotiv traveled to Czech Republic for their first foreign joint camp. The camp is expected to last a week to 10 days as both teams prepare for new season. Both teams has also scheduled a friendly against Czech champions Modranska Prostejov on September 28 (Lokomotiv) and September 29 (Azerrail).
Modranska Prostejov will participate in the European Champions League next season. Club transferred players like Anna Velikiy and Tatyana Artmenko from Israel NT,and lost Kimberly Glass and Ogonna Nnamani from the USA NT.

The USA NT moves to Azeri Superleague!

Azerbaijani Super-league clubs transfer the USA National team players in a row. After Nicole Davis,Kimberly Glass,Jennifer Tamas-Joines,Kristin Richards,Tayyiba Haneef-Park,Kelly Wing, at least two more players will join Azeri Superleague for next club season.
Great left-handed opposite player of USA Nancy Metcalf (186 cm,1978)who played in different strong leagues like Italian,Brasilian,Turkish, and young, promising outside-hitter Julie Rubenstein (192 cm,1987)will join Lokomotiv Baku for next season.
This is not last transfer through the Pacific Ocean,since two or three more players can continue their careers in Azerbaijan.

USA NT captain Jennifer Joines-Tamas in Azerrail Baku.

Last Azerbaijan Cup Winner Azerrail Baku transferred another top-class International player,the captain of the USA National team Jennifer Joines-Tamas.
Jennifer Joines-Tamas (191 cm,1982) has played for the USA National team since 2002. She has great experience in different leagues,such as Italy,Russia and the others.
She won different titles in the World arena with her National team. She has been a captain of the USA NT since 2008 year.
Note: Before we informed you about Cheryl Weaver`s arriving in Azerrail Baku,but the talks were ended by the sides and this agreement was canceled.

Libero of Azerbaijan National team and Azerrail Baku last season,Shafag Karimova signed a year contract with Nagliyyatchi Baku.
Shafag Karimova (174 cm,1988) has played for Azerbaijan National team and Azerrail Baku since 2005 and played in different International and club tournaments with her teams.
