At last: Lokomotiv claims its first victory in the Superleague.
In the first match of the tour the leader Rabita Baku tested the young fighters of Adnan Kistak "VC Shirvan". Shirvan tried to show some nice actions but Rabita did not let the girls of Kistak to open their eyes winning the match in three sets 3-0 (25-13: 25-17: 25-16)
The best players of the match were: Bojana Doganjic (Rabita) and Alina Aliyeva (Shirvan)
In th second match of the day another debunant of the Super league "VC Baki" faced Lokomotiv BAku which was hungry for the victory in the local arena. Match started with nice actions of Richards and Metcalf from Loko and new transfer of Baki Juliana Valnte and Sarai Alvarez answered the opponents with not weaker attacks. The first set was closed with win of Loko 25-20 and in the second set Baki won win the same result with great game of the setter Engle and Michaela Manzoni.
The following two sets were staged to a dramatical game, but Loko was not going to lose the match and closed the sets 25-19 and 31-29. 3-1 (25-20: 20-25: 25-19: 31-29)
The best players: Nicole Davis (Lokomotiv) and Juliana Valente (Baki)
The closing match of the tour was between Azerrail and Igtisadchi which had the same points and the result of the match was very important of the ranking case. Igtisadchi played without the head coach, although the new coach of the team Jan de Brandt was in Baku and watching the match from the tribunes.
The first two sets Igtisadchi was looking for "adventures" replacing players in a row and that`s why lost the first two sets 25-27 and 14-25. Polina Rahimova and Jennifer Tamas showed super performance and lead their team to the victory in these two sets. Especially with the strongest aces of Rahimova Igtisadchi had quite serious problems in reception, despite of having such a great player like Yuko Sano,Riikka Lehtonen and Alice Blom.
But the third set was the beginning of Igtisadchi`s coming back. The German setter of Igtisadchi played very big role in that with her serves when the score was 20-16 and Azerrail was very close to win the match in three sets. But Weiss brought the score to 21-23 and with Alice Blom`s perfcet attacks they won the thrid set.
The fourth set showed that Igtisadchi was not going to give up,Fin Riikka Lehtonen and Spanish Marisa Fernandez answered Polina Rahimova and Elisangela Pereira Paulino`s powerful attacks and closed the set in tie-break part - 26-24.
In the fifth set Azerrail was a bit nervous and Igtisadchi had two points advantage but one again rising star of Azerbaijani volleyball Polina Rahimova and American NT captain Jennifer Tamas showed great performance in tie-break and finishd the set 15-12 and the match 3-2 (27-25: 25-14: 22-25: 24-26: 15-12)
The MVP of the match was Polina Rahimova. The best of Igtisadchi was the Dutch star Alice Blom.

Lokomotiv is still without victory!
Yesterday,on the 20th November the 4th leg of the Azeri Super league came to the end with very interesting matches.
In the first match of the day the debutant of the Super league "VC Shirvan" was tested by the team of stars Igtisadchi which played the match without its Turkish head coach Yaziciogullari.
The beginning of the match was disappointing for the young girls of "VC Shirvan", which lost six straight points from the opponents serves. And only then, "Shirvan" was able to soak through - 1:6. As a result, the first set finished with a score of 25:14 in favor of "Igtisadchi" with a brilliant performance of German setter Weiss and the Croatian middle-blocker Ivana Milos.
The third period showed that the "Shirvan" is set to a serious struggle, and the victory against Lokomotiv of stars was not by an accident. "Shirvan" was great with Azeri National team member Aynur Karimova on block and Alina Aliyeva at reception and attacks. They had an advantage in five points but at the end of the set Dutch star Alice Blom and Spanish middle-blocker Marisa Fernandez led their team to the victory in the third set. 25-22
The third set was very important for young girls, but losing this set they gave up in the following one with the score 25-15 and Igtisadchi closed the match 3-1.
The best players of the match were: Alina Aliyeva from "VC Shirvan" and Alice Blom from Igtisadchi.
Rabita and "VC Baki" faced in the second match of the day. Rabita was playing without the captain Natalya Mammadova who was replaced with the former captain Bojana Doganjic.
"VC Baki" missed Canadian outside-hitter with whom they did not come to the agreement and who is replaced by Brasilian player (more info soon) which did nit take a part in the match due to license problems.
Rabita played great all match long and claimed an easy victory in three sets with smart performance of Sanja Starovic and Kimberly Glass. 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 17-25)
The best players were: Sanja Starovic (Rabita) and Sarai Alvarez (VC Baki)
The last match was played between Azerrail and Lokomotiv. Azerrail was looking for the victory for not losing the first position of the ranking (even Rabita played a match less),and Lokomotiv was hungry for the victory in the local arena, since they lost all of three matches played.
Match started with 4 points advantage of Lokomotiv with Yelena Parkhomenko`s blocks and Kristin Richard`s attacks. But soon Azerrail equaled the score having smart performance with Polina Rahimova`s strongest attacks and Jennifer Tamas`s killing blocks. 28-26
Young Azeri player Polina Rahimova was shining all match long with incredible attacks and serves putting Nicole Davis and Kremena Kamenova in a very hard situation in reception. Lokomotiv did everything to claim the first victory but Azerrail Baku was stronger in every component of the game and won the following two sets 25-13, 27-25

Rabita sweeps Aluprof 3:0
In the fourth round of the 2010-11 CEV Champions League, Rabita Baku swept Aluprof Bielsko-Biala in straight sets, avenging the last week defeat.
Sanja Starovic headlined Rabita's attack with 14 points and Natasa Krsmanovic added 12 points, including match-high five blocks.
Rabita came out focused and ready, and by the time of the first technical timeout the host team was up 8:3. It didn't stop there, as Azerbaijani champions pushed ahead to a 10:3 lead, forcing Aluprof coach to signal another timeout. A tip over by Kim Glass had Rabita go up 17:4, and Polish team looked like a shadow of itself from last week. Aluprof did managed to cut Rabita's lead to eight, but it was too little too late as a block from Mira Golubovic closed the set 25:13.
Rabita picked up from where it left off in the second set, as Kim Glass put another block for a 12:7 lead. Polish team, however, stayed resilient, and crept within two at 15:13. Rabita grabbed the next three points, taking a 18:13 lead, but Aluprof responded with a ferocious 8:2 run and took a first lead in the game, 21:20. With the set on the line, it was the time for Rabita defense to shine - a series of incredible saves and three blocks in a row helped Rabita to snatch the set 25:23.
In the third set, Rabita built a quick 4:1 lead for Aluprof to erase it and to tie it at six. But Rabita would not relent. Hosts took four points straight, then pieced together three more points to go up 13:8, forcing guests into a timeout. But the pep talk didn't help much as Rabita finished the set with a final 12:4 run to close the match 25:12.
